Margaret Kertez

B.A., M.A., D.Phil., B.SW.

Margaret is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Social Work at the University of Melbourne, with two decades experience in the areas of domestic and family violence, child protection and out-of-home care.

Margaret’s work focuses on the complex needs of children and their families, particularly in the context of domestic and family violence and other stressors such as parental substance misuse or mental health problems. She is currently evaluating a program addressing the needs of women who use force in the context of DFV. Her interests include evaluation of child and family interventions, applied research and knowledge translation, in close collaboration with service providers, to promote good practice and the systems that support it.
