Dr Sonia Reisenhofer

RN, BN, MCN (Emergency), PhD

Sonia Reisenhofer is the International Courses Coordinator and Academic Program Director of the Bachelor of Nursing degree (Singapore) within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Academic Coordinator (Academic Partnerships) in the College of Science, Health and Engineering at La Trobe University.

An emergency nurse by background, Sonia has been working within the international education arena since 2007. Sonia’s research interests are primarily within international education and healthcare for women experiencing intimate partner violence.

In 2017 Sonia graduated with her PhD: Understanding abused women’s needs, identifying their goals and using the stages of change to enhance health professionals’ care for women experiencing intimate partner violence. She is currently focusing on investigating healthcare education programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the area of family violence.
